A Fine, Gorge Cased Bell Striking and Repeating Carriage Clock with alarm.

A Fine, Gorge Cased Bell Striking and Repeating Carriage Clock with alarm.

 French Carriage Clock by Drocourt.

The polished and lacquered brass case with bevel-edged glasses throughout, 'one-way' folding handle, large rectangular platform viewing glass and repeat button to top.  The white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, outer minutes chapter and blued steel 'Breguet' hands, being signed below XII, CHEMINANT Paris, and having an alarm chapter with single hand below.  The French 8 day striking movement of typical high quality, having its original split, bi-metallic temperature compensated balance, blued steel hairspring and gold timing screws, sounding the hours and half hours on a polished bell, the backplate impressed with the 'Drocourt' logo.
