A Late 19th Century French Boulle Clock
The shaped case with red tortoiseshell and brass inlay to the front, highly decorative cast mounts of asymmetrically scrolling pattern, glazed and bordered pendulum viewing aperture, hinged bezel with bevel-edged glass and floreate finial to the top. The 3.5 inch circular, cast dial with dark blue Roman numerals on white enamel cartouches and blued steel hands with Brocot regulation at XII. The French eight day movement of typical high quality with anchor escaepment, steel pendulum rod with 'starburst' bob and sounding the hours and half hours on a coiled, blued steel gong.
