The beautifully executed enamel on gold case depicting scenes of Joseph and the wife of Potiphor with pastoral scenes to the band and interior, having plain gold bezel and loose ring pendant. The dial with black Arabic hour numerals, half hour divisions and inner quarters chapter, having a single gilt hand. The pre-hairspring, gilt movement with three wheel train, early chain fusee, scrolling blued steel set up spring to the silvered regulator disc and being signed to the top plate, 'Henry Arlaud.'

Henry Arlaud was of French descent and worked in London from 1650-1675. The case is most probably Swiss. This watch is illustrated in Tardy's classic, 'Dictionnaire des Horlogers Francais.'
