The substantial, plain 18 carat gold 'stepped' case marked inside, HMF (Henry Mills Frodsham) with built up shoulder to the handset, double sprung front cover and thief proof swivel bow. The 'Willis' white dial with black Roman numerals, outer minutes chapter, blued steel spade hands and offset seconds at VI, being signed below XII, Chas. FRODSHAM 09887 ADFMSZ. The exquisite, keyless, gilt movement with English lever escapement, split bi-metallic temperature compensated balance with gold timing screws, screwed in jewels throughout (including the centre wheel) and raised barrel, the top plate being signed, 'Chas. Frodsham By Appointment to the King 27 South Molton St. London No. 09887 ADFMSZ' and bearing two cartouches inscribed, 'By Appointment to the King' and 'GOLD MEDALS OF HONOUR FRENCH, RUSSIAN, ITALIAN'.

This superior quality movement was undoubtedly made by the firm of Nicole Nielsen who supplied movement to many of the country's finest watch firms.
