The substantial 18 carat gold plain case with double sprung front cover and hinged back exposing the tri-colour inner cuvette inscribed, LONGINES GRAND PRIX PARIS 1900 CRONOMETRO together with a fascimile of various prize medals, below this a further glazed cuvette exposing the movement. The white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, outer minutes chapter and Arabic five minute divisions, having offset seconds at VI, gold hands and being signed, LONGINES CRONMETRO. The three quarter plate movement with lever escapement and split bi-metallic balance with gold timing screws, blued steel overcoil hairspring and micrometer regulation, being jewelled to the centre with screwed in chatons, the top plate engraved, LONGINES 1818945 together with its original wooden, felt and silk lined display box.
