The platinum, plain case with sprung front cover, hinged back with family crest, inner cuvette and gold crown. The silver dial with black Arabic numerals, outer minutes chapter, blued steel spade hands and offset seconds at '6' being signed, J.W.BENSON, LONDON'. The keyless, gilt movement with lever escapement, bi-metallic temperature compensated balance, blued steel hairspring and screwed in jewels throughout. Signed A102 BEST LONDON MAKE BY WARRANT TO H.M. THE QUEEN. J.W.Benson 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill London', together with the original 18ct gold and platinum chain and seal bearing a repeat of the family crest, the whole retained in its original, signed presentation box. Although the movement is undoubtably English, the dial is signed at the base 'SWISS MADE'. It may be that the dial and perhaps the case, were made in Switzerland.
